Rachel E. Lewis, PhD
Although I have always loved history, it was not until after college that I discovered public history as a field. I got my start in the profession working at a small local history center, where I learned the basics of archives, collections management, and guest services. I expanded my experience working for organizations in Iowa, Illinois, and Wisconsin, while also completing my life long goal of earning a PhD.
I am now a public history professional with over a decade of experience working in the museum field. I have a wide range of experience in public and private organizations that include an ethnic history museum, rural historic sites, and sites that tell the history of historically under-represented people. I have a passion to make history accessible and the creativity to do it.
